“We have been living and breathing the food, art, and culture in Deep Ellum for over 20 years, cultivating and supporting this unique creative energy within our neighborhood.”

who we are

Gianna Madrini

Founder / executive director

Gianna Madrini is a fashion editor, writer, producer and long time resident of the Deep Ellum neighborhood. She has served as a neighborhood advocate for many years and founded the Deep Ellum Residents Council, a sister organization to the Downtown Residents Council and is a former member of the Deep Ellum Foundation, and past president of the Deep Ellum Association. She says she feels fortunate to have met so many of the artists, residents, small business owners and service workers who make up the fabric of the neighborhood. The music scene and art community are what make Deep Ellum so special.  We want to help our neighbors and support our creative community.

Central track

dallas online alternative magazine

Since it was founded in 2012, Central Track has developed a teflon reputation as a collection of writers, photographers, designers, humorists and provocateurs that voraciously covers the rich cultural landscape of Dallas and beyond by showcasing the wonderful diversity and fascinating blend of high- and low-brow aesthetics that this city so uniquely boasts.

The name Central Track, even, is a nod to Dallas’ history in this regard, referencing the rail (and subsequently named, and long forgotten, neighborhood) that once separated Downtown Dallas and the Deep Ellum entertainment district just as the city’s cultural identity was taking shape in the late 1800s.

life in deep ellum

cultural center & faith community

In 2006, the Dallas media announced that Deep Ellum was dead. We disagreed. After doing a survey of the historic neighborhood, we looked at the data and came up with four basic strengths that we think embody the community. These became the pillars for our Cultural Center and the heart behind our conviction that there was still Life in Deep Ellum.
